The Sino-German research project SIGN contributes to improved water quality in the Chinese Taihu region. The topics around the water cycle are pollution mitigation, monitoring for e.g. algae and ecotoxicity, water treatment by membrane filtration, oxidation and biodegradation, isotope fractionation, flushing and leakage detection within the drinking water distribution network, urban stormwater management and governance.
